Brarack Obama's Teleprompter, a right wing satire blog
This blogspot blog, "Barack Obama's Teleprompter", is being picked up by Rush Limbaugh and a few other right wing talk show hosts. Now, consider that a good number of people who listen to Limbaugh rarely if ever leave the bubble of right wing mis-information. Many of the people visiting this satire blog are simply not exposed to anything but a twisted caricture of progressive thought. This is a chance to change that, even if, just for a little while.
I think this is a chance to go on and post some sensible retorts. Already, there are a few either beligerent or sarcastic comments from people who dislike the premise of the blog. That's fine, but I think it's more productive to push the discussion in a direction that might help these people at least glimpse the sense of progressive thought. How Obama's policies will make them, and all Americans, better off. It doesn't take much rational thought to break down the lies of someone like Limbaugh.
For similar reasons, I'd also like to see at least a modicum of balance on right wing talk radio. I'm not talking about equal time, silencing Sean Hannity or any other of the right's strawmen. Just getting a little exposure to some dissenting thought so people who consume this vitriol might be forced to venture outside of their intellectual comfort zone occasionally. Germany is dealing with so called right wing extremist "alternative societies," and we can't let that develop in America.
